Eight Olympic sports that have already been finished in previous “Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games” series will also be returning. A new game in the Mario & Sonic franchise for the Nintendo Switch is Mario & Sonic at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Olympic Events

Nintendo and Sega come up for a massive crossover athletic event that coincides with the real Olympics every four years. It appears that 2024 won’t be any different. Mario and Sonic in the Olympic Games 2024 may arrive later this year, per a recent job posting. Since 2007, the Mario and Sonic series has brought together the two brands’ respective protagonists to participate in events modeled by the Olympics. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, the most recent entry in the series, was published in 2019.

Playable Characters

Celebrating the triumph of the Olympic Summer Games in Tokyo in 2020. Mario and Sonic travel to Paris in order to get ready for the upcoming Olympic Games. The issue is that Dr. Eggman, Bowser, and other evildoers want to seize control of Paris and transform it from a beautiful metropolis into yet another evil factory. To take down these bad guys, Mario, Sonic, and the main character, Mii, must put together the full squad. 

There are 42 characters total, 24 of which are normal characters and 18 of which are special guests.There are 43 playable characters in all, not counting supporting characters, that have been created by the series: 20 from the Sonic the Hedgehog series, 22 from the Super Mario franchise, and Mii characters. The characters who make an appearance in each individual edition are listed in the table below. 

Revised Presentation and Graphics:

Navigate through the narrative mode to acquire. Rouge is limited to rock climbing and may only be used for it. Unlockables are exclusively linked to Story events that you have successfully completed. Eight sprite figures participate in retro sporting activities in this format. In the Story Mode, Mario, Sonic, Toad, Bowser, and Dr. Eggman is drawn into a video game that is modeled on the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. An improvement in graphics and complet presentation also takes place at the time of the new installment. 

Multiplayer Modes

Mario & Sonic unites the two protagonists and fourteen additional characters from each series to engage in scenarios inspired by the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics official locations. The futuristic and cartoonish graphic styles of the Mario and Sonic franchises, respectively, are reflected in the stylization of these environments. 

Every playable character has unique statistics that, depending on the situation, may be advantageous or disadvantageous. All-around, speed, power, and skill are the four categories into which the characters are separated. More in-game characters for the Wii edition are drawn from the Mii Channel on the system, which enables users to personalize their avatars, or Miis, and import them into games that support the function. There is a gallery mode on both versions where you may find some quick Olympic information. 

Five Olympic-related trivia categories are arranged according to athletes and history, and each category has a matching minigame that, when finished, unlocks the solution to a trivia question. After every level in a category is completed, the gallery features classic music from both series. Additionally, all versions have leaderboards that show the best times and scores in each event via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

Conclusion

A collection of crossover sports games from Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog series and Nintendo’s Super Mario brand is known as the Mario & Sonic series. Mario and Sonic first debuted together in a video game with this series. The series started when Sega obtained the rights to make Olympic-themed video games, with the intention of making a version using characters from their popular Sonic the Hedgehog series. Nintendo gave Sega permission to combine Sonic the Hedgehog series characters with Super Mario characters in the game because of the competitive sportsmanship of the Olympics.
